Om!
Avidya is the root cause of all sufferings you may have seen in this world or other. Avidya is a Sanskrit word, which is made of three words – ‘a’ (not) + ‘vit’ (knowing) + ‘ya’ (The Truth), thus ‘Avidya’ means ‘not knowing the Truth’. ‘Vidya’ is the root cause of Liberation from sufferings. ‘Vidya’ means ‘knowing the Truth’.
And the Truth is all seen unseen things are impermanent, hence, not to be attached.
Living unattached to anything anyone is Vidya and the best Art of Living. That enlightens the relationships with all. Developing this consciousness is Sadhana. This Sadhana can be practiced more in household life. If you are householder and you live with your family members with this consciousness, then you are more pure and powerful Yogi/Swami than ones who are recluse and live in solitude. The testing of heroism can happen only in the battlefield. The world is battlefield. You can test your prowess of divinity only, when you are attacked by attachment, fear, despair, anxiety, failure, sadness, deceptions, etc. You can test yourself how much do you combat these enemies.
Equanimity is Vidya, the practice of Equanimity can be done only when you confront the male and female, heat and cold, praise and blame, pain and comfort, sorrow and happiness, all dwandwas (dualities).
Vidya connects you with Cosmic Energy, so you feel an abundant Energy also when you are Vidyavana (one who has Vidya). Out of Energy, comes Zeal. Zeal is one of essential elements of Absolute Enlightenment.
Vidya quietude your mind. Detachment is Vidya. When you detach yourself, inwardly, from all relations to near and dear things, people and places, then you allow to manifest the Great Tranquility. One can’t cultivate tranquility. Brought tranquility is temporary. The Unborn tranquility is realized when you detach yourself inwardly from everything every one, even from viewing yourself as any kind of personality, as male, as female, as easterner, as westerner, as Brahman, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Sudra, Enlightened, Unenlightened. One has to detach from all identities. When one detach oneself from all identities, only in that condition, The Unborn State of Consciousness can be realized. And living with that Consciousness is Vidya, which quietude the mind and gives incessant happiness even in unhappy state of the world.
Thus, Vidya, is the root cause of all kinds of Happiness and Avidya, the root cause of all kinds of unhappiness. Vidya gives the Liberation from Sufferings.
सा विद्याया विमुक्तये. Sa vidyaya vimuktaye. Vidya is that which liberates your being.
